The Hobbit Hero’s Journey

The Hobbit Hero’s Journey

In the Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien of the Hero’s Journey, blog  will be focusing on how Bilbo experiences the steps of an archetypical hero, and if Bilbo really fits into that description. Throughout this blog there will be many discussions about Bilbo’s troubles and trials. He has numerous kinds of traits and special ways that he contributes to them. Some pessimistic will disagree that Bilbo fits into the spectrum of being a hero, so in  this essay will hopefully persuade them by providing in depth how he is well driven and also well persevered. Bilbo can be negative and positive. Bilbo went on this expedition, not solely on his choice, but by someone very almighty. He sometimes struggles to heed  get along with some other people and has to be careful what he does. He is a very important character in this book, and needs to make wise and thoughtful choices for the dwarves, friends, and Gandalf. So Bilbo is actually a great example of being an archetypal hero, because the book has many exceptional provings. The  examples below will evoke a strong persuasive way to understand and grasp what exactly this means, and to many may change some pessimistic minds.

Bilbo had many brave trials, but when he fought in the tunnel alone, he had much courage. He had come upon a vast red-golden dragon, laying dormant in his big nest. This type of courage isn’t simple or the regular type that we have. There were many other incidences that he had  come upon and face, which has greatly helped his cause in this particular moment. He knew exactly how to approach the ghastly beast without waking it from its sleep and startle it. This has shown that Bilbo had dealt with a high intensity of fear, anguish, and hope. Bilbo in some way is also stealthful, tricky and  maybe deceitful, but only in a good manner. He has also learned to adapt to different atmospheres, and know when it’s time to protect, attack, or negotiate with others, although particularly abnormal creatures. He had planned how to approach the tunnel and grab the cup that was to be given back to the dwarves. Now it was most likely nerve racking for Biblo to go into the dark ominous tunnel and carry out his plan, but that definitely did not stop him from  being scared or retreat his mission. If he hadn’t done so, he and the dwarves would have been in a tough spot. After all, Bilbo is quite the bold-courageous man that perhaps no one else in his group would be and others  might not
in a treacherous situation like this, Bilbo has very good traits of being a archetypical hero.  Finally, Bilbo has earned the dwarves trust and this certainly takes a lot on their part to do so. This will ultimately give him an exceeding opportunity to become a better and stupendous hero.

In conclusion, the numerous passages above have talked in intrigue detail how Bilbo really is a Archetypal hero. The passages portrays a vivid persuasive tone, so that we realize and understand why he is a good example for this type. He passed many challenges and showed the way for others. It was interesting for the author to incorporate some clear visual comprehension of the main thesis.
