The Left Hand Of Darkness




The ideas of this week’s reading of the novel includes tension, convincing, and learning how to deal with others.

First off we see that the novel is built around a major conflict with the main character and a whole other tribe or region of a planet. However, this conflict is not a bad one or one that will lead to destruction at first. The main character wants to come to make a deal convince a nation of no gender. That itself must be challenging. We also see that things start to turn awire for the main character when he is giving a fortune telling that will predict his future.

Some of the consequences of these ideas can lead to sacrifice for others that was for the good of others. So in all, making a deal or convincing someone or a nation is not that easy and the main character did the best he could but I don’t think he was careful enough when caring out his actions. He was lead astray from someone and did not understand what he was getting into. However the main point to make is that some things are worth risking your life for and that person see through the bad to make that challenging decision.

It all starts out with Celia and Marco who are tied in love and they have a challenge ahead of themselves. Annihilation

Annihilation Something I think is weird about this film is the atmosphere for sure and the DNA that the dome has inside of it. What I mean by this is how the landscape is inside the dome where the volunteers go into to see what’s wrong. It is extremely colorful and has shapes and forms that are very unique. They form around the existing earth structure but eat away at it and forms its own nature. What I think is incredible is how the book talks in great detail about the color of the forms of the new landscape. This is the moss that covers everything. It has incredible neon colors that are so abstract to even imagine but very intense! The patterns that it creates and everything that it keeps inside of it is kind of gross but at the same time beautiful. Interview with A Vampire

It is quite interesting to see in the beginning that there are only a couple of vampires and then there leads to be more and more throughout the journeys of each vampire. The interactions with each vampire are quite interesting because there seems to follow a pattern of death and travel with each one. That is pretty much death and deception. I say this because the first time we see it is when Louis and Claudia plan on killing Lestat. Why would they do this? It could be hatred toward Lestat for making her something she didn’t want to be. Another time we see this pattern is when Lestat comes back from the dead to kill them. This is number 2 for an attempt to kill because of spite possibly. The third time this happens is when Louise and Claudia move to another place but don’t like it. This time the pattern is to keep traveling. This continues on and on throughout the books.
